Sergeant (E-5) 4066 EDL PROGRAMMER in the United States Marine Corps
March, 1983 - July, 1986

United States Marine Corps I entered the Marine Corps on March 1, 1983, attending recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, California. I was trained by the Marine Corps as a MOS 4034-COMPUTER OPERATOR at the Marine Corps Development and Education Center, Quantico, Virginia. I was stationed at the Marine Corps Air Station in Beaufort, South Carolina.

At MCAS, Beaufort, I learned the Event Driven Language (EDL) in which the IBM Series/1 was programmed. I wrote many applications in EDL for the Series/1, becoming an expert in the language. I was awarded the secondary MOS 4066-EDL PROGRAMMER.

I was meritoriously promoted to the rank of Corporal (E-4) in March, 1985, then to Sergeant (E-5) in May, 1986. I was awarded the Navy Achievement Medal and Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal.
